Guangzhou Institute of Future Additive Manufacturing (hereinafter referred to as the "Institute") spearheaded by the academician team of Harbin Institute of Technology, was registered and founded in Liwan District of Guangzhou on October 30, 2024. It is a district-administered social service institution with independent legal person status.

The core technical team of the project brings together a number of national-level high-end talents, professors with overseas study experience and outstanding entrepreneurial teams, boasting prominent industrialization capabilities. Centering on the key technical issues of intelligent materials and additive manufacturing in the fields of aerospace, aviation, biomedicine, intelligent robots and intelligent manufacturing, the Institute conducts systematic research, carries out application verification and pilot-scale production of research results, forms an industrialization and application integration system, and realizes an industrial organizational model integrating research, production and sales.

Based on cutting-edge science and technology and closely aligned with national strategic demands and industrial development trends, the Institute aims to drive innovation and breakthroughs in the field of additive manufacturing. It conducts research on advanced technologies of intelligent materials and additive manufacturing, undertakes the transformation, industrialization and commercialization of scientific research achievements, and builds a national-level R&D highland and industrialization base for future additive manufacturing, striving to boost the rapid development of industries related to additive manufacturing technologies.
