The research institute has built a high-level talent team with a rational structure, exquisite expertise and vibrant innovation, forming a well-established echelon featuring academicians as leaders, national high-level talents, professors and associate professors as backbones, and young talents as the main force. This team provides the core intellectual support for technological R&D, achievement transformation and industrial empowerment in the additive manufacturing field.


The core technical team brings together a number of national high-level talents, professors with overseas study experience and professional technical personnel. The team boasts a prominent academic background overall: over 51% of the professional technical staff hold master’s degrees or above, among whom more than 30% have doctoral degrees. All team members are from core related fields of additive manufacturing including materials science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, intelligent manufacturing and digital design, equipped with solid theoretical foundations and interdisciplinary integration capabilities. The core research backbones all have years of in-depth industry experience and demonstrate outstanding technological tackling capabilities in such subfields of additive manufacturing as equipment R&D, process optimization, material innovation and the printing of complex components.


The research institute attaches great importance to the development of its talent echelon and has established a training mechanism that enables senior experts to mentor the younger generation, middle-aged and young backbones to take the lead, and young talents to grow rapidly. The young talent team has grown fast through participation in major scientific research projects and industry-university-research cooperation programs, emerging as a vital force in technological R&D and achievement transformation. In addition, the institute has flexibly recruited a number of top industry experts to form an academic advisory team, which provides professional guidance for the planning of major scientific research directions and the solving of key technical problems, further enhancing the comprehensive competitiveness of its talent team.


This interdisciplinary talent team is equipped with both scientific research and innovation capabilities and industrial practice experience. It excels in conducting in-depth research on the basic theories and cutting-edge technologies of additive manufacturing, and can also accurately align with the industrial demands of key sectors including aerospace, intelligent manufacturing, smart materials, robotics, biomedicine, automobile manufacturing and high-end equipment. It drives the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial application, fully demonstrating the institute’s advantages in talent aggregation and core innovation capabilities in the additive manufacturing field.
